Vander Griend, Ward L. and Iiohne Scholarship

Mike Vander Griend and Pam Means have established this scholarship fund in honor of Mike’s father and mother, Ward and Ilohna Vander Griend. Both Ward and Ilohna graduated from Washington State College in 1931, Ward with a degree in agribusiness, and Ilohna with a fine arts degree. After graduating, Ward had a successful career of more than 40 years as an FHA supervisor in Whatcom County.  Both Ward and Ilohna have been strong supporters of Washington State University and feel grateful to WSU for the opportunities their education provided them. This scholarship fund recognizes the important role WSU played in their lives.
