Bernardo, John and Esther Agriculture Scholarship

John and Esther Bernardo were first and second generation Portuguese-Americans who appreciated the rural way of life and the importance of agriculture to our nation’s economic security.  Esther was rasied on an integrated farm on the California coast approximately 25 miles south of San Francisco.  It was on this farm that both sons (Mike and Dan) gained a love and appreciation for agriculture.  Esther and John instilled in their children very early the importance of a college education and were committed to helping their sons throughout their college education.  Mike became the first person on Esther’s side of the family to receive a four-year college degree and Dan the second.  Dan and Pam are establishing this scholarship in John and Ester’s honor.
