WSU Extension numbered publications range from short fact sheets to multi-chapter manuals (books), curricula, videos, and online learning modules. They are called “numbered publications” because each has its own identification number based on its category. For instance, a fact sheet begins with “FS” such as FS111E, Cover Crops for Home Gardens West of the Cascades. An Extension manual begins with “EM” such as EM085, Washington State Juice Grape Sustainability Report Card, and so forth.

Because Extension publications are usually written for a general reading audience, the use of footnotes should be avoided (except in the case of tables). Every effort should be made to work that material into the regular text.
