In running text, when referring to another section of the same publication, simply capitalize its heading—no quotes are needed. Include either “above,” “below,” or “section” after the heading to indicate that the section mentioned is part of the current publication. Use “above” or “below” regardless of the spatial location of the section mentioned.

Example: See Appendix A, below. Not: See “Appendix A.”

Example: See Reference section. Not: See “Reference” section.
