People

We work with CAHNRS faculty, staff, and students to cultivate research innovation and capacity. We work collaboratively with academic units, Research and Extension, and subject-matter center leaders to incentivize and achieve excellence in discovery and translational research. Our mission is to enhance the vitality and sustainability of the State’s food production systems, its environment and natural resources, and its people and communities. We are responsible for providing leadership and assistance to over 1,500 personnel in more than 15 departments located at five urban campuses and four Research & Extension Centers throughout the state. Annual research expenditures total over $80 million and are derived from state (~35%), capacity funding (5%), extramural grants (50%), and other (~10%) sources. Our office also maintains strong and effective partnerships with the USDA-ARS units located at Pullman and across the state.
