The following areas have been identified by the WTFRC Apple Crop Protection advisory committee as the highest priorities for research needs for 2018.
When applicable, draft proposals to focus on both conventional and organic components of pest management to provide service to either segment of the industry.
1) Pre-proposal are due at the ARC by October 30, 2017 at 4:00pm. ARC will forward all pre-proposals to WTFRC by the deadline date of November 2, 2017 at 5:00pm.
Send your pre-proposal(s) to Katy Roberts via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. NOTE: All submissions must be submitted using the “Pre-proposal form” which can be found on WTFRC website at http://treefruitresearch.org/proposals-reports/pre-proposals. Complete the required information and submit to me by the deadline date. DO NOT USE LAST YEAR’S FORM.
2) Pre-proposal approval notification(s) will be sent by November 20, 2017. Note: pre-proposal submissions are for new proposals only. Continuing and final reports do not require pre-proposal submission.
3) Approved new proposals and continuing proposals are due at ARC by December 22, 2017 due to the University closure during the holiday season. Send them to Katy Roberts electronically at email@example.com. NOTE: Have your budgets approved before submitting your proposal to ARC.
Approved new proposals and continuing proposals are due at WTFRC by 5 PM on January 4, 2018. NOTE: ARC will be submitting the proposals to WTFRC. Please check out WTFRC website for the latest forms.
4) The Apple Crop Protection Research Review will be held at the Holiday Inn Express in Pasco, January 25-26, 2018

Fungal diseases: Powdery Mildew, Postharvest Rots (Sphaeropsis Rot, Bull’s Eye Rot)
Pesticide Residue Management
Soil health improvement (examples: Humic acid, compost, manure)
Insect pests: Apple Mealybug, Apple Maggot
