Get to Know Kyla:
Why WSU:
I chose WSU because of the supportive environment and the veterinary school on campus. The Honors College 7-year vet program was something that I didn’t see offered at any other school. I am also a second generation coug!
What is special about being a CAHNRS Coug?
CAHNRS is such a unique environment full of supportive people. Our advisors, faculty, and students are there to help you with whatever you need. We also have hands on classes that immerse you in the topic that you’re learning about. CAHNRS has helped me feel more prepared for my future career!
Advice for Underclassmen:
Go to the events that your RA set up for you. They’re a great way to meet new people and make friends with similar interests to you. Also, reach out to people who can offer you resources (like us, we’re here to help!).
Favorite Class at WSU:
My favorite class so far has been Animal Science 285, which is animal rights and welfare. It is a great class with lots of encouragement for discussion. That class changed how I view human-animal interactions.
