Get to Know Makayla:
Why WSU:
I initially chose WSU because of the Agriculture Technology and Production Management major. Although, when I visited campus for the first time, I fell in love with the layout of campus and the feeling of being out in the country but still feeling like there is always something to do.
Favorite Spot on Campus:
My favorite spot on campus is sitting in the center of ‘Persona,’ the wind activated singing sculpture on top of the library, listening to the music and looking out over campus with the wheat fields in the distance.
Advice for Underclassmen:
My advice for incoming students is to ask questions, others may be wondering the same things. Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to a stranger. They may be interested in talking to you as well but are too afraid to approach you, may as well start the conversation yourself. The people you meet may end up becoming your long-lasting friends.
Confidence is key. Try to overcome the anxiety of talking to strangers or the anxiety of going to an event by yourself. When you push yourself, you get to have new experiences and meet more people that you wouldn’t have otherwise met.
