{"id":6300,"date":"2025-01-06T09:49:49","date_gmt":"2025-01-06T17:49:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cahnrs.wsu.edu\/academics\/?page_id=6300"},"modified":"2026-01-09T11:01:21","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T19:01:21","slug":"3mt-competition-submission-form","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cahnrs.wsu.edu\/academics\/3mt-competition-submission-form\/","title":{"rendered":"3MT Competition Submission Form"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CAHNRS 3MT Competition Registration<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>The CAHNRS 3 Minute Thesis Competition has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, in Ensminger Pavilion.\u00a0 It will take place from 2:00 \u2013 4:00 p.m. but is dependent upon the number of student entries. The deadline for registration is\u00a0<strong>Friday, February 27th, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We invite each department to nominate up to three of their top students (three PhD and three Master&#8217;s-level students) for consideration.&nbsp; We will accommodate as many students as possible, keeping in mind fair representation and limiting the competition to a reasonable amount of time.&nbsp; Winners will receive monetary awards via a student scholarship as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>First place: $1000 (awarded to one PhD student and one Master\u2019s student)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Second place: $500 (awarded to one PhD student and one Master\u2019s student)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People\u2019s Choice Award: $500 (awarded to one PhD student and one Master\u2019s student)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CAHNRS Eligibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>PhD candidates pursuing a degree within CAHNRS (must be in good academic standing)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Master\u2019s level students, pursuing degrees within CAHNRS.&nbsp; Master\u2019s level thesis students should be third semester or later (non-thesis students are not eligible). Master\u2019s students are not eligible for the university-wide competition. For <a href=\"https:\/\/3mt.wsu.edu\/\">more information on the university\u2019s event<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CAHNRS will host the competition on a single day with separate judging for PhD candidates and Master\u2019s level students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Entrants located on the Pullman campus must present face-to-face.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Entrants located on the urban campuses or at R&amp;E centers are allowed to videotape their presentation.&nbsp; To ensure consistency with Pullman campus presentations, these videos must be taped in front of an audience.&nbsp;Videos must be received 3 business days prior to the face-to-face competition in order to be judged.&nbsp; If a student not on the Pullman campus wins the CAHNRS 3MT competition, they must travel to Pullman to take part in the university-wide competition on March 26, 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Registration<strong> [Deadline \u2013 February 27]<\/strong> \u2013 you will need the following before registering for the event:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Complete the registration form (below)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upload a single static PowerPoint slide (no slide transitions, animations, or movement). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide a professional headshot to be featured in the CAHNRS 3MT competition website.&nbsp; The university will also use the winner\u2019s photo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div
