Hambelton, Mike and Kathy Fellowship

Mike and Kathy Hambelton have established this endowment to help ensure the continuation of WSU’s Tree Fruit Research directly within the growing areas of Washington State for perpetuity. “We are the third generation in the Washington State tree fruit industry (starting in 1911). We feel this is a very specific long term need of the industry and this endowment gives us a way to help repay what WSU has done for us, and our family. The endowment is to  be limited to supporting graduate fellowships at the Tree Fruit and Extension Center with headquarters in Wenatchee.”

Award Requirments

The distributions from the fund may be used to provide fellowship stipends to be used by graduate students working in tree fruit disciplines with the stipulation that the distributions be used at the Tree Fruit Research and Extension Center in Wenatchee for such things including but not limited to tuition and fees, subsistence, research expenses, and other educationally related costs.
