Allred, Loretta and Doug Scholarship

Loretta and Doug Allred are both graduates of Washington State University, Loretta in 1972 and Doug in 1973. With four daughters, they have a special interest in encouraging women to pursue university degrees. Loretta has two brothers, Russell and Douglas Salvadalena, who both graduated from the College of Agriculture and Home Economics. Due to their strong family connection with WSU, Loretta and Doug have established a permanent commitment to the students at Washington State University. This scholarship fund will perpetuate the couple’s dedication to encouraging academic achievement in the study and training of Human Development.

Award Requirements

Funds are to be used for undergraduate scholarships for students pursuing a degree in Human Development. This award is open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors in the Department of Human Development. Freshman applicants must have, at minimum, a 3.3 cumulative high school GPA. The award may be continued for the same student entering their sophomore, junior or senior years as long as a 3.0 GPA is maintained. Financial need will also be considered in the selection.  Recipients shall be selected according to the Department of Human Development’s scholarship committee.
