Schmidt, Robert Carl Scholarship

Robert Carl Schmidt was born in Plaza, Washington in 1930 and graduated from Rosalia High School in 1948. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture from Washington State College in 1953. After his graduation, he returned to the family farm and formed a farming partnership with his brother, growing wheat, barley, and peas until 1987. He married his late wife, Helen, in 1970. Robert was an active member of Rosalia United Methodist Church, the Pomona Grange and the Plaza Grange for 35 years. He was a volunteer firefighter for Spokane County Fire District 3 fro more than 30 years. He served on the Washington State Association of Conservation District, where he served as chairman for eight years and board supervisor for 20 years.

Award Requirements

The income from this fund shall be used to award one or more scholarships to students studying Agriculture in the College of Agriculture and Home Economics.
