Iritani, Dr. W. M. Memorial Scholarship and Research Fellowship

This scholarship and research fellowship is established in honor of Dr. W. M. ‘Willy’ Iritani, Professor Emeritus of Horticulture at Washington State University. Dr. Iritani was an important influence upon the potato industry of the Pacific Northwest for over 30 years. He had a special relationship with Washington State potato growers and processing industry.  Dr. Iritani’s research efforts to improve the production, storage, and processing of potatoes was strongly supported by the Washington potato industry. The results of his research efforts have had a vital impact on the development of the Washington potato industry.

Award Requirements

The WM Iritani Memorial Scholarship and Research Fellowship will be awarded in honor and support of research efforts that promote and enhance furthering the knowledge and improvement of potato production, storage, and processing in Washington State. This will be in the form of a scholarship for graduate or undergraduate students or fellowship award for faculty members in the pursuit of professional improvement.
