Robert Fulfs received a BS degree in Animal Husbandry from Washington State College in 1938. Since 1938, he has been a small grains and livestock farmer in Whitman County. In 1945, Mr. Fulfs married Myrtle Stout. They have three children: Marilyn Robinson, John Fulfs, Robynn Fulfs, and two grandchildren: Kelly Robinson and Michael Robinson. While he was still in high school, he placed 5th high individual in livestock judging at the Pacific International Livestock Exposition in Portland, Oregon. At WSC (WSU) Mr. Fulfs was a member of the 1937 and 1938 livestock judging teams and a member of the Lariat Club. He has always been a strong supporter of both local and state agriculture. He has been a sponsor of the Pony Club of America for the last 30+ years, a member of the Board of Directors of the Pullman Grange Supply, held local and state office positions with the National Farmers Organization, been on the Pullman Grain Growers Advisory Board, and was a member of the Whitman County Solid Waste Committee. Mr. Fulfs has a long history of contributions to 4-H and FFA programs and has been a loyal supporter of the WSU Animal Sciences Department. In 1998, Robert received the Distinguished Alumnus Award after his 60+ years of service to agriculture. Robert and Myrtle are establishing this scholarship fund to allow students to build careers in agriculture.
