After graduating from Washington State University, Jack Snell taught agriculture for a few years in Orting, then went into dairy farming with his family. He worked on the 80-acre farm for 42 years. Upon retiring, Jack bought a comfortable home in the senior community in Ellensburg, Washington. On February 17, 1996, Jack Snell, 68, walked Louise Lancaster, 72, down the aisle of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. Jack had never been married and Louise had six children and 14 grandchildren. They enjoyed extensive travel in their years together. Louise, who died in 2008, worked as a supervisor for Food Services at Central Washington University for 20 years.
Award Requirement
The distributions from this fund shall be used to award one or more scholarships to students in the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences at the discretion of the Dean of the College, with first preference to students in Dairy Science and/or Food Science for so long as those disciplines exist at Washington State University.
