Keith F. Kirkbride, a 1952 Vocational Agriculture Education graduate of Washington State University, also received a Master of Education in 1969. In 1953 Keith started the vocational agriculture program at Quincy High School, Quincy, Washington. This was the year irrigation water arrive in the area and agriculture was just starting in the region, with new farmers entering the valley every day. Keith Kirkbride helped shape the Quincy Valley through education and touch many lives in his fifteen years at Quincy High. In 1968 Keith was asked to start the agricultural education program in the Spokane Community College system. He developed and expanded the educational opportunities for traditional students as well as through adult outrearch programs, establishing the Spokane system as one of the best in the country.
