Zimmerman, David D. and Eleanor M. Scholarship Fund

David D. Zimmerman was born and raised on a farm in Grass Valley, OR to a farming family. He served in the U.S. Air Force becoming an aircraft mechanic. Upon leaving the military, he went to work at Boeing in Seattle where he eventually retired. In 1988 David and Eleanor married. She grew up in Spokane, WA, and spent the first part of her life farming in Kittitas Valley with her 1st husband, who passed away in 1983.

David and Eleanor lived in Cowiche, WA, where they farmed, traveled and enjoyed their life together, owning a fruit supply then after moving to Naches, WA, owned a fruit warehouse and packing company. Eleanor was an avid and talented quilter and an active member of the Apple Valley Piece Makers. She was a member of the Yakima Tennis Club and the Sunshine Lions Club of Naches, where she served as treasurer for many years. Sadly, David passes a way in 2010 and Eleanor in 2018.

Because of their passion and life in agriculture they wished to help students, undergraduate and graduates, be able to pursue their degree and future in the field that they loved. Community had always been an important part of their lives, so they wanted to give back as much as they could.
