Casavant, Kenneth and Dorothy Family School of Economic Sciences Excellence Endowment

Ken and Dorothy Casavant, along with their family, have established this fund to provide for the continuing development of the School of Economic Sciences, supporting their students and research. By honoring the 50 years of Ken’s service to WSU and to celebrate Dorothy’s commitment to both WSU and the Pullman community, the Casavant family endeavors to support students, the success and future of Transportation Economics and Policy.

The Casavant’s arrived in Pullman and WSU in 1967. Ken received his PhD in Agricultural Economics in 1971 and joined the faculty where he has been awarded dozens of teaching and research awards locally, regionally and nationally during his career. He served as the Faculty Representative (FAR) for WSU Athletics for 18 years. The Casavant family has a long and committed relationship to WSU Students and University Mission, this fund was established to continue this legacy.

Award Requirements:

Funds shall be used to support School of Economics Students, both undergraduate and graduate with scholarships. A minimum of 40% of the distributions will be directed to support the Freight Policy Transportation Institute or related transportation research, including international travel for research or to present transportation research findings.
