CAHNRS Student Experience Advisory Council (SEAC) Meeting

We’re looking forward to seeing you soon! Please review the 4 committee descriptions and associated topics for discussion below. We will brainstorm ideas to move each of these topics forward in facilitated breakout sessions.


Curriculum/Classroom Committee: The primary purpose of the curriculum/classroom committee is to discuss and recommend best practice curricula and classroom experiences to support students with internship and career readiness and industry stakeholders with access to faculty and classroom, as well as, a more career ready intern and employee. Topics: Agriculture and Food Systems 401 Capstone, Conversational Spanish, New Fall courses

Internships/Professional Development Committee: The primary purpose of the Internship/Professional Development Committee is to discuss and recommend best practices for supporting internships and developing professional development opportunities both on and off campus. Topics: Customized Recruitment, Marketing Internships, Student Career Success Fund

Mentoring/Alumni Involvement: The primary purpose of the Mentoring/Alumni involvement Committee is to discuss and recommend programming to increase alumni engagement with current students.  In addition to assist in developing mentoring or other alumni programs to increase networking and connections between students and alumni. Topics: Alumni Mentoring Pilot Program, Social Programs to Forster Connection, Young Alumni Engagement

Student Experiences: The primary purpose of the Student Experiences Committee is to discuss and recommend programming to support student experiences.  Of particular focus are international immersion, alternative spring break programs, service learning, field trips, student clubs, professional meetings/conferences. Topics: Alternative Spring Break, International Student Experiences, Student Career Success Fund RFP
