Academic and personal costs associated with CAHNRS international experiences can be somewhat daunting! However, if you start the planning process early
, your abroad experience costs have the potential to be significantly reduced through additional funding support! When looking through CAHNRS abroad programs, please take note of both the academic and personal costs associated with the trips.
It should be noted that associated costs with Faculty-led programs vary and can be located through the Office of International Programs for each specific program, alongside other programmatic information. Associated costs with Exchange programs also vary by institution and are located on the International Programs Office Exchange website.
“I was so discouraged from the money aspect because I didn’t know what kind of support system Global Learning has… there are countless resources for [students] on campus, with scholarships from WSU, WSU Alumni, or other scholarships found through a provider or online sources. If you work for it, it can be possible to get more paid off from scholarships than you would going to WSU for a semester. Do not live on regretting the choice to not look into that one program, or taking a couple minutes to apply to that one scholarship.”
-Randee Zerger, Academic Programs International, Scotland (2015)

“I decided to apply for scholarships because [they] were the only way I was going to be able to afford the trip. It was an opportunity that presented itself, and I put my best foot forward knowing that it was one of the best shots I had of going on the study abroad trip.”
-Janelle Thomas, Costa Rica (2017)
