WSU Extension hands-on forestry health workshops

November 2, 2013 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

$15.00

Republic and Leavenworth, Wash. – Is your forest healthy? WSU Extension will teach landowners how to answer this question for their own forests at a day-long workshop offered at two locations in Eastern Washington this fall.

Upcoming dates and locations include:
9/28/13 – Republic Fairgrounds, Republic, WA 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
11/2/13 – Chelan County Fire District 3, Leavenworth, WA 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

To register for the workshop, please contact WSU Extension Forester Andy Perleberg at 509-667-6540 or email andyp@wsu.edu.

The hands-on workshops are designed to give landowners experience identifying and measuring factors that affect a forest’s health. Workshop participants will learn how to recognize forest problems and how to manage their own forest to be resistant to insects and diseases. Landowners will learn how to measure forest health indicators and assess risk. Afternoon field sessions will include hands-on measurement of forest timber stands.

Extension educators from Washington State University and forestry experts from the region will lead sessions.
