$5Learn about Clams and Beach Stewardship:
Dig for Your Dinner on June 17th
The Jefferson Marine Resources Committee is co-sponsoring a public education program on clamming. Join WA Fish and Wildlife Department biologists Camille Speck and Doug Rogers on June 17th to learn all about proper harvesting of clams on local beaches. Bring the family and find out more about different types of clams, where to find them, how to harvest safely and sustainably, and the basic rules and regulations that assure delicious clams this summer and into the future. Co-sponsored by WSU Jefferson County Beach Watchers and Jefferson County Parks.
- Bring your shellfish licenses, bucket, boots, hat, drinking water and digging tools (rake/trowel or shovel) to the event. You can purchase a WDFW Shellfish License on-line at www.fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov or at a local retail outlet.
To reserve your space and for more information, contact WSU Extension at wsujeffersoncounty@gmail.com or call (360) 379-5610 ext. 200. This public event is free, but a $5 donation per family is suggested to help support future marine education programs.
