Digging 4 Dinner

Join WSU Jefferson County Beach Watchers and WA Fish and Wildlife Department biologists Camille Speck and Doug Rogers on June 17th or July 26th to learn all about harvesting clams on local beaches. Bring the family and find out more about different types of clams, where to find them, how to harvest safely and sustainably, and the basic rules and regulations that assure delicious clams this summer and into the future. Co-sponsored by Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee.- Saturday, July 26, 10 am at Indian Island County Park (N. Lagoon Beach unit)
Please bring your shellfish licenses, bucket, boots, hat, drinking water and digging tools (rake/trowel or shovel) to the event. You can purchase a WDFW Shellfish License on-line at www.fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov or one of the following retail outlets: Port Ludlow Marina, Olympic Equipment Rentals in Port Hadlock, Port Townsend Fuel Dock, Brinnon General Store, or Quimper Mercantile, Henery Hardware, or Sea Marine in Port Townsend. Children 14 and under do not need a license. To reserve your space and for more information, contact wsujeffersoncounty@gmail.com or call (360) 379-5610 ext. 200. This public event is free, but a $5 donation per family is suggested to help support future marine education programs. |
