GROW VEGGIES! It’s not too late!
July 21, 2014 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
“It’s Not Too Late to Grow Veggies” is the Jefferson County WSU Master Gardeners July educational lecture series topic. This free brown bag garden lecture takes place Monday, July 21, 12-1, at the WSU Extension office in Point Hudson (380 Jefferson St., Port Townsend).
Do you want to eat fresh lettuce and other vegetables through the fall and winter? At this event, you’ll learn which vegetables you can grow during the fall and winter months, and how to keep them protected from the coldest night. Tips on growing vegetables in containers will also be discussed, which is helpful for those who have small spaces. Questions and sharing personal vegetable growing techniques are encouraged throughout the lecture. Bring your lunch and have fun learning how to produce and extend your vegetable garden through the fall and winter season.
This lecture will be presented by long-time Jefferson County Master Gardeners, Mike McFadden and Ali Dyche. The Brown Bag Lecture Series is sponsored by WSU Jefferson County Master Gardeners and is held March through November, on the third Monday of each month, at noon.
