October 4, 2012 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Lessons and Results from a Prescribed Fire Program

Come learn about how the WDFW Sinlahekin Wildlife Area has planned, funded, and executed a successful prescribed burning program. See if Rx fire may be one of the tools you could use for managing your forest land.
During this tour, some of the things you will learn include:

  • Fire effects; Fire by‐products;
  • How fire and the by‐products affect and benefit the plant and animal communities;
  • Fire dependent/adapted plants and the mechanism of their dependency/adaptation;
  • How fire is integral to forest health;
  • Planning and preparing for controlled burns.

The event is “FREE.” However, please RSVP so we can plan for materials.
