Dr. Martin Mendez has a BSc in horticulture from the National University of Uruguay, a MSc in viticulture from the University of California, Davis and a Ph.D. in viticulture from the University of Adelaide, Australia.
Dr. Mendez is currently the manager of the GIS and Remote Sensing Group in the Dept of Wine & Grape Supply at E&J Gallo Winery, focusing on water, environmental, and precision farming related issues. Previous to that, he worked as Senior Research Scientist at E&J Gallo’s research department, where he conducted extensive research in the area of irrigation, mechanization and other vineyard management practices across major wine growing regions in California.
