Summer Stewardship at Snow Creek Uncas Preserve

June 30, 2014 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Summer Stewardship at Snow Creek Uncas Preserve
Monday, June 30, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., join Jefferson Land Trust and North Olympic Salmon Coalition staff and volunteers at Snow Creek Uncas Preserve. A cathedral of giant Bigleaf maple, moss, and licorice ferns come to a halt at the edge of a thin forest of alder and reed canary grass. Knock back the reed canary grass with your best stomping boots to give the young native plants a chance to grow.
Summer Stewardship volunteer work parties are a chance to see our local conservation lands and the variety of stewardship activities that go into protecting these unique habitats. We provide gloves, tools, good company and beautiful protected landscapes! Work parties are open to those of all abilities and include a protected property tour.
Contact Carrie atcclendaniel@saveland.org for directions to the Preserve, carpool information, or to sign up as a stewardship volunteer and hear about all of the Summer Stewardship events series, to explore and care for some of the best protected habitat in East Jefferson County.
