Proposal Resources<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Depending on your unit, your primary point of contact for submitting a grant may be a R&E Center or Unit staff. In addition, the Office of Research Advancement and Partnerships<\/a> (ORAP) is available for assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you decide to pursue a proposal submission, as the lead Principal Investigator (PI) or as a partner (another department, college, institution, or entity), please submit a request through the pre-award portal<\/a>. The CAHNRS Grant Team reviews the proposal and eREX and submits it to the Office of Research Support and Operations (ORSO) for final institutional approval and submission. Please note proposal submission expectations<\/a>. ORSO is the only entity authorized to submit proposals on behalf of WSU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Large Grant Development<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Office of Research Advancement and Partnerships<\/a> (ORAP) assists CAHNRS faculty members pursuing external funding, particularly integrated, multi-investor grants. The objective of the Office is to provide clerical, organizational, and editorial support to individuals taking the lead in preparing complex proposals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CAHNRS Grant Team<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The CAHNRS grant team reviews final proposals before submission to ORSO<\/a>, and works with departments to correct and\/or revise proposals to ensure error-free processing to the funding agency. The team provides training, instruction, and advice on proposal preparation and submission. Faculty Responsibility Memo 9.18.25<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n

\n\t\t\tThe Role of the Principal Investigator\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\n\n

The roles and responsibilities of a Principal Investigator are outlined in Business Policies and Procedures Manual 40.01<\/a>. WSU has mandatory Principal Investigator training. This training is accessed using your network ID and password. PIs are not authorized to sign awards; only ORSO has been delegated the authority to sign and accept awards on behalf of WSU.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n\n
