Foeppel, Bill Memorial Scholarship

Bill Foeppel was an important influence upon the irrigated agricultural industry in the Columbia Basin for over 30 years. He worked as a fieldman with a Quincy agrichemical dealership when irrigation first began in the Basin project.  He later served as Area Extension Agent in both Grant-Adams and Benton-Franklin counties. Bill also worked as a farm manager in Creston, British Columbia for several years. Especially notable was his work with vegetable crops and his keen interest in plant pathology and entomology. His leadership was vital to the development of the Washington potato industry.

Award Requirements

The Bill Foeppel Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a junior or senior in the College of Agriculture and Home Economics majoring in plant sciences, including horticulture, agronomy, weed science, entomology, plant pathology or soils. Preference will be given to eastern Washington residents who have worked to support their education and need financial assistance.
