This endowment was established with gifts in honor of Lou Pepper and later supplemented with gifts from Lou and Mollie Pepper. At Lou’s urging, the fund also honors his late father, Louis H. Pepper, Sr., a dairy farmer in Illinois and Wisconsin. He was proud of the sire he had in the early 1920s named King Segis Pontiac the Great. He had a lifelong interest in dairy cattle and dairying. One of his favorite pastimes was to watch dairy cattle judging at local and state fairs in the Midwest. It is fitting that he be remembered this way.
