Donated by Robert Schmidt

215 acres
The Schmidt farm demonstrates how one family's farmland can support generations of students and scientists. Robert Schmidt donated 215 acres to Washington State University. Revenue from the land now funds the VRl Kaiser Conservation Endowment, in WSU's Center for Sustaining Agriculture and Natural Resources. That endowment supports research and education in sustainable agriculture, helping farmers make practical improvements to soil health and environmental stewardship. The Schmidt farm proves that land can be more than productive. It can be transformative. Thanks to Robert's gift, WSU continues to lead the way in conservation based farming.Video montage showing the Schmidt farm.
