Biography

Karie is an applied social scientist that works with research teams and collaborators to carryout and integrate research, extension, and communication relating to sustainable agriculture and resource governance. She has expertise completing mixed methods research, teaching field courses, facilitating participatory action research, and partnering on multi-disciplinary projects with entities such as the Colorado Water Institute, University of Idaho Extension, and the National Science Foundation. Karie earned her M.A. in Rural Sociology and her interdisciplinary PhD as a National Science Foundation IGERT Fellow studying agricultural water governance at Colorado State University. Outside of work, Karie finds her equilibrium on rivers, trails and on the top of peaks.
