Biography

Nayab originally hails from Punjab, Pakistan. She holds a M.S. in Crop Cultivation and Farming Systems from China Agricultural University. She studied the effects of microplastic pollution in agroecosystems which developed her interest in soil plant interactions and global change factors. Pursuing her interests, Nayab has joined WSU as a Ph.D. student in the Soil Science and Agronomy program co-advised by Dr. Deirdre Griffin LaHue and Dr. Lisa Wasko DeVetter. She is working on an interdisciplinary project and her research focuses on the impacts of soil-biodegradable plastic mulches on soil health and horticultural outcomes in strawberry systems.
