Biography

Education
B.S., Plant Science, Cornell University, 1976
M.S. Weed Science, Biochemistry, North Dakota State University, 1979
Ph.D. Weed Science, Herbicide Resistance Mechanisms, Michigan State University, 1984

Research
I am interested in biochemical and molecular seed defenses and how these are linked to wheat quality and seed longevity. I am also interested in the untapped potential of durum wheat because of its yield and diverse genetic resources. I am interested in applying this fundamental knowledge to practical applications, such as improved wheat varieties and new approaches to weed management.
