Biography

Teal Potter is a soil ecologist and climate adaptation integration specialist. Her past research examines how agricultural practices influence soil microbial communities and the consequences for agricultural crops and soil health. At CSANR, Teal’s primary areas of work include state-wide research on cover crops and national climate adaptation trainings. Teal is committed to the long view of agriculture, seeking to translate climate projections to envision the scenarios where we can continue to grow crops successfully under even more challenging conditions later this century.

Teal received her PhD in Ecology from the University of Colorado and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Wisconsin and Washington State University. She joined CSANR in 2023 and is based at the Tree Fruit Research and Extension Center in Wenatchee.
