Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center

The Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center is a supportive and welcoming place for WSU and the community to advance diversity and socially conscious research, engagement, outreach, and innovation. The building contains reservable meeting spaces, open event space, and a commercial kitchen.

The Office of Multicultural Services

The Office of Multicultural Student Services (MSS) seeks to facilitate the best undergraduate experience for multicultural, first-generation, and other underrepresented students through the provision of culturally relevant services to enhance their learning and development and foster their successful transition, adjustment, persistence, achievement, and graduation.

WSU Division of Student Affairs – Cougar Community

WSU Student Affairs fosters a welcoming and diverse campus community and aims to provide services and spaces where all students will grow and succeed. Various centers and offices serve as hubs for enrichment through a variety of programming, advising and support.

WSU Office of Outreach and Education

Essential to Washington State University’s public, land-grant tradition of service to society, the mission of the Office of Outreach and Education (formerly the Office of Equity and Diversity) is to promote, create, and sustain an inclusive campus and community environment through education.

Center for First Generation Student Success, an initiative of the Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA) and The Suder Foundation

A first-generation Coug is someone whose parents or legal guardians did not have or complete a four-year degree at a college or university in in the United States during their formative years.  The center is open to all undergraduate and graduate first-gen students. Whether it’s your first year at WSU or your last, the First Gen Student Center is here for you.

WSU Office of Veterans Affairs

Washington State University is world-class higher education and research institution that is dedicated to serving those who serve our nation. We welcome all military-affiliated students, as our veterans, active duty, guard/reserve, and military family members, are an integral part of the Cougar community. We are committed to helping them to succeed and achieve their academic and career goals.
WSU provides individualized support to help each student receive the education benefits they are entitled to. We seek to empower our military-affiliated students to take part in community and networking opportunities, including student organizations and veteran-specific physical locations on some WSU campuses. We also offer a wide variety of support services and programs across all six campuses.

Native American Graduate Student Center

Located in Cleveland Hall 27A, the Center is a space in which members of the Native graduate student community can relax, work, and hold meetings. Comfortable seating, tables, coffee, and tea are available.  Food and drinks can also be purchased at the Cleveland Hall Espresso Bar, or at the vending machines just outside of the Center.
Resources available at the Center include computers with SPSS software and free printing.  The Center can be reserved for use by Native American student organizations after 4:00 PM each day.

Native American Student Center

The Native American Student Center strives to meet the educational needs of Native students, while providing a space on campus for Native students. They provide academic advising, cultural events, student mentoring program, scholarships, financial guidance, and computer usage, and more. 

Chicanx/Latinx Student Center

The CLSC Mission at the Chicanx Latinx Student Center is to promote academic success and achievement for all students especially those of Latin/Spanish ethnicity, culture, community, heritage and linguistic backgrounds. Therefore, the Center provides academic guidance, programming, professional services, and connections to promote the students’ academic success and personal development. They do this by creating a positive, safe, encouraging, nurturing and professional environment where students take on Personal Responsibility IDeveloping Excellence (PRIDE). To this end, the Center exists to serve as a support for all students and communities by providing the connections to foster a culturally relevant transition, adjustment, persistence, achievement, and graduation from Washington State University.

Asian American and Pacific Islander Student Center

There are about 57 cultures under the umbrella term “Asian American and Pacific Islander” with over 300 different languages spoken. Though each culture has its unique characteristics, we are united in the common struggle of adapting to Pullman away from the comforts that our cultures may have provided. Things such as family, food, climate, and community advocacy/support are vital to feeling comfortable in a college climate.
The AAPI Student Center recognizes the unique breadth of experiences within the 57 cultures, striving to accommodate students to feel at home at WSU. It is a place to relax, meet other students, and find useful information to survive in this stressful college environment.

African American Student Center

The AASC’s mission is to provide an environment that is conducive to inspired learning for all students at Washington State University through academic, socio-cultural and career focused services. Although their services are culturally unique to the “Black” community, it is their hope that all members of the university embrace our rich history, language and life style.

Women*s Center

Established in 1974, he Women*s center mission is to engage with the multi-dimensional experiences of women, to challenge patterns of injustice for people of all genders, and to provide a welcoming and inclusive space. The center elevates all marginalized voices while prioritizing prerogatives to learn, organize, and support one another as peers and mentors. It fosters a community dynamic both within and beyond the Women*s Center that is collaborative, creative, and inclusive.

WSU Access Center

The Access Center serves students with permanent physical, sensory and psychological disabilities, chronic health conditions and temporary injuries, with a goal of removing or reducing artificial barriers and providing equal access to learning.

International Student Services

International Student Services assists in maintaining student visa status and supporting them through their WSU journey as a student and beyond.

Human Resource Services: Diversity

An inclusive workplace is attained and sustained by seeking a diverse group of individuals and perspectives, valuing our differences and ensuring equitable opportunities.  Human Resource Services supports a climate of integrity and equity that actively reflects open, respectful dialog.

Human Resource Services: Disability Services

The Disability Services unit is responsible for overseeing a host of system wide leave and disability related programs and services such as medical leaves, long term disability claims, reasonable accommodation and workers’ compensation.

Office of the Dean of Students

The Office of the Dean of Students promotes students’ self-determination: their ability to make meaningful, satisfying, and authentic choices for their own success by helping them create a transformative experience and achieve their goals.

Office of the University Ombudsman

The primary purpose of the office is to protect the interests, rights, and privileges of students, staff, and faculty at all levels and locations of WSU operations and programs. The Ombuds is a neutral and confidential resource to all members of the university community. The Ombuds Office provides information about WSU policies and procedures. We also facilitate the resolution of problems and grievances through informal investigation and mediation. The office does not supersede other university grievance, complaint, or appeal procedures.

Office of Compliance and Civil Rights: Diversity

Compliance and Civil Rights (CCR) provides resources, advice, solution building, investigation, support, education and training relating to compliance and civil rights. CCR is the central resource office for complaints of discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, and sex and gender based violence. CCR is a central resource for technical guidance regarding Title IX, ADA, HIPAA, Clery, and other compliance laws and regulations. CCR promotes a culture of knowledge and compliance with regulatory and legal requirements. CCR promotes and supports WSU’s strategic goals and values through thoughtful, equitable, and ethical compliance assessment, technical guidance, and investigation.

ADVANCE

ADVANCE at WSU focuses on institutional transformation toward a more inclusive/faculty-friendly environment, supporting diversity and equity. Its goals include increased representation of women and diverse faculty in all disciplines, especially in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM).
