It turned out to be a nice weekend despite what looked like a rough start on Friday afternoon. Hopefully any planned outdoor events were not impacted. I “scheduled” my annual vaccine-related flu for the weekend but was pleasantly surprised to have no reaction this year! That gave me a chance to enjoy the weekend and make unexpected progress on a document.
Congratulations to this year’s Provost’s Leadership Academy participants from CAHNRS: Henry Adams, Leah Brueggeman, Chakradhar Mattupalli, Amanda Murphy, and Carrie Shofner! We look forward to hearing about your projects as they develop.
My travel plans for the week were postponed, leaving me a good amount of time for standing meetings and promotion materials review. Promotion recommendations are due to the provost before the end of the month. It is one of the activities that makes October busy.
We are starting to plan the annual CAHNRS promotion and tenure webinar. This year it is a bit later than the past two years. If you are faculty, please note that Dec. 13 is the date this year, still from 9 a.m. until noon. A Zoom link will be sent soon. These trainings have been well received, largely due to tips and recommendations provided by colleagues who were recently promoted and/or served on the college review committee.
We are getting ready to head out across the state and meet with CAHNRS faculty and staff during our upcoming roadshow. Like last year, we have eight stops scheduled during the last two weeks of October. Some venues have changed from last year and the time of day has changed in response to feedback we received from last year’s participants. A new RSVP survey this year provides an opportunity for participants to propose a topic or question. Thanks to those who have submitted topics. We look forward to good conversations and checking in with people across the state.
