The campaign ads have ended, but the suspense continues as we try to understand what the results mean on a day-to-day basis. It is hard to believe it is already November and the semester is winding down. October ended with some Halloween fun. I was pleased to hear that one of our CAHNRS families sent their future Coug to the Children’s Center dressed as a Cosmic Crisp® apple. The costume was a hit with the employees in Lighty Hall who were visited by the class. We appreciate them sharing the photo with us!
Thanks to all who participated in conversations over the last two weeks of roadshows. It was great to see everyone! We ran out of time at all but one of our roadshow stops, but we covered a lot of topics and questions brought forward by registrants. We had a nice turnout at the partner event in Wenatchee. Tobin Northfield and Lee Kalcsits did a great job showing attendees the current facilities and the location for a new plant growth facility. Thanks much to the Wenatchee staff and faculty plus the CAHNRS alumni and development team for putting the event together!
This week was the Board of Natural Resources meeting. The weekend reading to prep for the meeting was extensive. So, too, was engagement by stakeholders. The rest of this week is primarily Zoom meetings of various sorts, including standing meetings. In between, I’m working on a college overview document for the president’s office. Then it’s a long weekend for me to get out of town for a few days. I hope the same for all of you.
