“Being the president of MANRRS at Washington State University while I completed my bachelor’s degree, helped me develop leadership skills and a deep passion for vocally advancing equity in agricultural sciences. Today, I am a PhD candidate at CU Boulder specializing in gene architecture annotation and systems biology. My research integrates machine learning and network analysis to study how plants adapt to environmental pressures. I also run a startup focused on gene annotation in non-model crops, addressing the challenge of lacking congruent gene annotation to improve sustainable breeding and agricultural practices.”

Junior MANRRS

The newest addition to the WSU MANRRS family is the Science and Math Institute Junior MANRRS Chapter. WSU MANRRS is excited to mentor this new chapter as it grows into a fabulous community. We continue to recruit 2 new Junior MANRRS Chapters. For more information contact Co-Advisors Colette Casavant and Miguel Inzunza.

Junior MANRRS prepares 7-12th graders for an exciting future in science, technology, engineering, agriculture, mathematics, or related STEM careers.

These 3 Washington based Junior MANRRS Chapters were launched through the Washington State Department of Agriculture’s sponsorship of the Washington CAHNRS Leaders of Tomorrow Pilot Project. The project’s intent is foster relationships with high school students, nurture leadership skills, provide college-ready information, and familiarize them with MANRRS and the college experience.
