WSU’s College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS) is excited to welcome our industry partners back on campus to recruit our outstanding students for future career and internship opportunities in-person at our Spring 2024 Speed Networking Night on Monday, February 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in Ensminger Pavilion on the Pullman, WA campus.


What is Speed Networking?  Speed Networking (Business Speed Dating) is an extremely time-saving and effective way of making professional contacts. The purpose of speed networking is to encourage participants to make as many connections as possible. We’ll have round-robin sessions where CAHNRS students will rotate through employer-sponsored tables. Please take advantage of this engaging opportunity to sponsor a table and connect with students during the session. You’ll be able to provide information about your company’s career and internship offerings. We are limited to 40 companies at this event, so don’t hesitate to sign up.

  •  We ask that employers send one to two representatives to host your table.
  • CAHNRS will provide a round table with eight chairs, a tablecloth, and a parking pass for each company or organization.

This event is different than our fall career and internship networking night (i.e., no eight-foot display tables will be provided). We encourage companies to bring job and internship descriptions and swag to handout, but it must fit on the tabletop or a box on the floor.  

After the completion of the round-robin sessions, we’ll open up the event to a social hour for continued networking and time to build connections. Dinner and refreshments will be served at this time.

Additional Guests

If you have an addition to the number of guests who will be attending our Speed Networking Night in Ensminger and may be joining us for dinner, please make additions and corrections on the CAHNRS payment page.

Parking

We can provide parking permits for those who will be on campus the day of our event before 5:00 pm. You will need to register your vehicle with your license plate number. Your parking pass will be in any available lot. Please reach out to cahnrs.majors@wsu.edu to initiate this process IN ADVANCE. map Parking is free after 5:00 pm and hourly parking is available on a first-come-first-served basis near Ensminger.

Day of Event Schedule

3:30-4:30 p.m.   Employer Check-in and Setup tables 

We will provide a round table (with linen included), one on-campus parking pass, and assistance by students to help you with load in/load out. Most companies will bring company promotional swag to handout, internships, and career job descriptions.

4:30-5:00 p.m.  Students Check-In

5:00 p.m. Speed Networking event begins, scholarship drawings throughout the evening  

6:30-7:00 p.m. Dinner served, students and employers sit together 

7:00 p.m. Official soft ending of event

7:00-7:30 p.m. Event Wrap up
