Meet Your Advisors

Advisors are professional staff dedicated to supporting student success through personalized, student-centered guidance. They help students make informed decisions about their academic paths, connect them with campus resources, and offer support in areas such as course planning, career exploration, and personal development. Building a strong relationship with an advisor is key to navigating the college experience, as advisors serve as knowledgeable partners who advocate for student goals and help remove barriers to success.

Making the Most of YOUR Advising

  • Schedule regular appointments with your advisor (minimum once per semester).
  • Arrive on time. If you are late, you may need to reschedule.
  • Lead with curiosity and ask questions!
  • Take time to reflect on your values and goals and share them openly with your advisor. Honest conversations help them better support you on your path.
  • Regularly check your WSU email.
  • Come prepared with helpful information and materials—like your Academic Requirement Report, transfer details, course ideas, or any needed forms—to make the most of your advising session.
  • Be open about any challenges that may be impacting your academics, such as study habits, course demands, or personal concerns. Your advisor is here to listen and help you find the support you need.
  • Talk about your interests and future goals—including careers, internships, study abroad, or even changing your major. They can help you explore your options and make informed decisions
  • Remember: This is your educational journey! You are the driver of your education. The more you engage and take ownership of your decisions, the more meaningful and rewarding your experience will be. Your effort plays a key role in shaping your success.
