USA Pulses/ USA Dry Pea and Lentil Council

Summary

The USA Dry Pea and Lentil Council (USADPLC) requests research proposals investigating pulse crops (dry peas, lentils, and chickpeas) for the 2026-27 fiscal year. Plans of work will be accepted for research of the following topics: Breeding & Variety Trials & Genetics, Crop Management & Sustainability, Nutrition & Health Benefits, or Product Development.

Washington Red Raspberry Commission

Summary

The Washington Red Raspberry Commission (WRRC) is issuing a request for proposals for research in the upcoming year (January – December 2026). WRRC is interested in supporting projects that align with the current research priorities (Appendix A). WRRC research grants are open to non-profit organizations, including commodity groups/associations and farmers’ groups, private enterprises such as pest consultants and food processors, and university and extension programs.

Washington Grain Commission

Summary

The Washington Grain Commission (WGC) seeks preproposals from Washington State University and USDA-ARS scientists for new research projects eligible for funding in its FY 2027 budget cycle (July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027). Researchers will receive feedback regarding the WGC’s interest in receiving a full proposal, suggested modifications to project objectives, and other relevant input.

Washington State Wine Commission

Summary

The Washington wine industry supports viticulture and enology research to advance Washington grape and wine quality through a competitive grant program administered by the Washington Wine Commission. Awards will be announced on or before the first week of May. Funding year runs from July 1 to June 30.

Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission

Summary

The Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission (WTFRC) and the Oregon Sweet Cherry Commission (OSCC) are seeking cherry and stone fruit research proposals in the following priority areas. Washington Blueberry Commission

Summary

Research proposals for 2025 are now being accepted. Proposals will be evaluated based on the listed priorities. Proposals for issues other than those listed as priorities are eligible for funding. Researchers may be requested to give a presentation at the Washington Small Fruit Conference in 2025. Researchers accepting funds from the Washington Blueberry Commission are required to make a presentation scheduled by the Commission on the results of their work at a grower meeting and/or at an annual berry research review meeting.
